Mickey Rourke has spoken out in defense of Alec Baldwin, saying there is “no way in hell” he should face charges over the death of Halyna Hutchins.

Responding to the news on Instagram, Rourke wrote: “I usually never put my two cents on what happens on the set of someone’s film. This is a terrible tragedy what happened to cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. But there is no way in hell actor Alec Baldwin should be charged with negligence what ever.

ICYMI: Family of Halyna Hutchins reacts to murder charges

On Thursday (January 19), the family of Halyna Hutchins released a statement in response to the news that Alec Baldwin, among others, will be charged with involuntary manslaughter for her death.

Hutchins, 42, was shot by Mr Baldwin, who starred in and produced the film, while rehearsing inside the church on set on October 21, 2021.

In a message sent through the lawyer Brian Panish, the family thanked the sheriff of Santa Fe and the District Attorney “for concluding their thorough investigation and determining that the charge for involuntary manslaughter is warranted for the killing of Halyna Hutchins with a conscious disregard for human life”.

They went on to say that the announcement was a “comfort for the family”.

Broadcaster and columnist Piers Morgan weighed in rust shooting on Thursday, after the news that Alec Baldwin will face charges of involuntary manslaughter broke.

In his speech, Piers Morgan UncensoredMorgan appeared to welcome the accusations against the actor.

“There is no doubt that it was an accident but Halyna Hutchins died, leaving behind a grief-stricken husband and a young child and the person holding the gun that fired the bullet and killed himself was Alec Baldwin,” said Morgan.
