The global mining industry saw a 30% increase in new job postings related to the internet of things in Q2 2022 compared to the previous quarter, according to GlobalData’s Jobs Analytics. This compares to a 30% increase in the previous quarter and a 64% increase in Q2 2021.

Notably, jobs for Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers account for 26% of the global internet mining industry for all things related in Q2 2022, which has increased up 27% from the previous quarter.

Software and Web Developers, Architects, and Testers, with a share of 26%, emerged as the highest internet related jobs in the mining industry in Q2 2022, with new job postings increasing by 27% quarter-over-quarter. Computer and Information Systems Administrators came in second with a share of 6% in Q2 2022, with new job postings increasing by 36% over the previous quarter.

Other popular online jobs include Database and Network Administrators and Developers with a 3% share in Q2 2022, Sales and Marketing Managers with a 3% share of new job offers.

The top five companies in the mining industry account for 59% of payroll

The major companies, based on the number of new job offers tracked by GlobalData, from Q2 2022 are Eaton Corporation, Komatsu, ABB and Caterpillar. Together they account for a combined share of 59% of all internet related activity in the mining industry.

Eaton Corporation posted online 330 new jobs related to things in Q2 2022, Komatsu 232 jobs, ABB jobs 202, and Caterpillar 37 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Payroll jobs driven by US with 40% share of total active job postings, Q2 2022

The largest online share of new job offers related to things in the mining industry in Q2 2022 in the US with 40% followed by Canada (22%) and India (13%) ). The share represented by the US is 9% higher than the 31% share predicted in Q1 2022.
