Trump news latest: Trump calls for Mitch McConnell to be impeached as Oath Keepers message to him revealed

Donald Trump says Twitter has become ‘very boring’ since he got banned

During an appearance in right-wing outlets, Donald Trump this morning called for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to be impeached, saying that the Republican congressman “owns him”.

Mr McConnell’s ex-presidential streak is well known, but there is no reason to expect other Republican senators to make a concerted effort against him. Mr McConnell has invested heavily in his Senate midterm campaign, while Mr Trump has used a disproportionate share of the money he raised on his own legal bills.

Mr Trump’s jab at Mr McConnell came after news that a key former aide, Kash Patel, was set to testify before a grand jury investigating the handling of secret documents at Mar-a-Lago after being granted immunity from prosecution.

Mr Patel is a close adviser to the former president and maintains a personal relationship with him. He was appointed as one of his official representatives to the National Archives and Records Administration.

Meanwhile, the Oath Keepers trial yesterday saw prosecutors reveal a message to Mr Trump written but never sent by the group’s leader, Stewart Rhodes, who faces conspiracy charges in connection with the January 6 attack.

Trump’s lawyers are trying to intervene for the New York AG’s suit, reports say

Report in The New York Times said that members of Donald Trump’s legal team tried to stage an intervention yesterday in the hours before he released the lawsuit against New York Attorney General Letitia James.

They warned the Florida lawyers who drafted the lawsuit (who sometimes sounded like the former president with his trademark boasts and grievances) that it was frivolous and would fail, and further that they could be committing malpractice.

Maggie Haberman believes another Trump adviser is now coming for Bruce Epshteyn on the matter.

Here are more details about the lawsuit against Ms. James:

ICYMI: Trump’s lawsuit against Letitia James

Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social account that he has filed a lawsuit against New York Attorney General Letitia James, accusing her of waging an “unhealthy, pernicious, public, and unapologetic crusade” against him.

The former president also claimed in a lawsuit filed in Florida circuit court that New York’s attorney general violated his right to privacy and property.

He said Ms. James violated her rights as a grantor and beneficiary of a Donald J Trump revocable trust.

Pelosi attack: Capitol Police launch investigation into missed CCTV feed

US Capitol Police have launched an internal investigation after officers monitoring CCTV cameras trained on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s home in San Francisco failed to notice a break-in that immediately preceded the brutal attack on Ms. Pelosi’s husband last week.

Earlier this week, several outlets reported that officers at the Washington DC command center of the department responsible for monitoring the live feed from the cameras installed to monitor Pelosi’s residence did not know that something was wrong on the morning of October 28 until they saw a police vehicle using it. Emergency lights are activated outside the speaker’s townhouse.

Officers monitoring the cameras only found footage of suspected attacker David DePape smashing a glass door behind his residence and entering it while continuing to view footage from hours earlier.
